Description
Silk screened sign for the Amache Silk Screen Shop with a color illustration depicting the rear-view of a naked man wearing a sombrero, blanket over one shoulder, playing a guitar, and sitting between two cacti. He is facing a row of barracks and a red and white checked water tower. The sign is oriented to a 90 degree rotation (diamond shaped). On the front: Amache Silk Screen Shop Production Amache 1944 Colorado.
The sign was acquired by Yo and Sachi Kumasaki, who were incarcerated at Tule Lake and later transferred to Amache. It is unknown how the sign came into their possession.
