Description
James Warner and Harry Lyon returned to San Francisco in July of 1928 aboard the Matson liner, Malolo. Welcomed back with celebration and parade by City of San Francisco and Oakland.

Southern Cross was Fokker trimotor flown by Australian aviators Charles Kingsford Smith and Charles Ulm with Americans Harry Lyon and James Warner as navigator and wireless operator. First transpacific flight, they flew from Oakland, California to Sydney, Australia. Returned to San Francisco in July 1928 on Matson liner, Malolo.
