Description
Oystertone silk, triangular shape shawl. Embroidered with polychrome blossoms and vines. 7" fringe with 1 1/2" knotted border. Style is Chinese Mandarin of the mid-19th century, Tao Kuang period. Embroidered in "blind stitch", so called because children employed to do it often went blind.
