The road is lined with single-story wooden buildings with covered porches and flat roofs. In the foreground at right is the two-story Independence Hotel. Several tall trees are growing on both sides of the road, partially hiding some buildings from view. A group of three men is standing near the side of the road at right. Legible signs include, from left to right: "A-B Naptha Soap Best Soap in Cold Water", "Crystal White A perfect family soap", "R[eal Estat]e", and "Independence Hotel".
