An adobe house located on the East side of North Spring Street, number 658 to 668, in Sonora Town. It was owned by Don Cristobal Aguilar, Mayor of Los Angeles. It was once used as a jail and had a whipping post in front. It was also the first hospital established in Los Angeles by Catholic Sisters in 1858, the Los Angeles Infirmary (later St. Vincent's Hospital). The street was previously called Upper Main.
