Photograph of panoramic view of the Broadway and 3rd Street area looking east from Crocker Mansion on Bunker Hill, ca.1894. In the extreme foreground at center, the rectangular roof of a building surrounded by a metallic trim can be seen. Large trees surround the building. In the background at center, a wide street filled with carriages can be seen. Several large buildings sit on either side of the road. In the extreme background, clusters of buildings can be seen. Visible in the image are the Bradbury Building and old City Hall as well as numerous other buildings including the First Congregational Church which can be seen in the foreground, at left (built in 1883)
Stimson Block (1893-1963) at north-east corner of Spring and 3rd Streets
Ramona Block (1886-1912) at south-west corner of Spring and 3rd Streets (its south end and turret are visible to the right of the Bradbury Building)
the Saint Vibiana Cathedral can be seen in the close background at left, behind the City Hall. Legible signs include: "225, 229, Los Angeles Furniture Co., furniture, carpets, draperies, bedding, etc.
