Republicans, planning for the big GOP $100-a-plate dinner April 16, today (April 1) sought the gastronomical reaction from a real elephant, symbol of party, at the circus grounds. Dinner, similar to the one to be served at Shrine Convention Hall, was offered Little Bit, a Clyde Beatty elephant. Thomas P. Pike, dinner chairman, extends the plate, while Ruth Saint, who leads the women's committee with $7000 worth of ticket sales, looks on".
