Near the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Orange Drive, merchant John Schumacher speaks about plans to increase police patrols on Hollywood Boulevard due to increasing number of nighttime cruisers and gang members. With him are LAPD Captain Rick Batson, L.A. City councilman Michael Woo, Jan Walner of the Hollywood-Roosevelt Hotel, and two traffic officers. Photograph dated April 4, 1988.
