Description
This image is one included in the Vickers Beach Erosion Report of 1941. The camera is looking east from 39th Place, Belmont Shore. In the center of the image is a stretch of wet sand, with the ocean edge at right. There is a concrete platform and stairway down to the sand noted at far left in the foreground. Also at left and stretching off into the distance toward the Los Alamitos Bay Peninsula, structures including a water tower, portions of businesses, and residences are visible along Ocean Boulevard. Telephone poles and lines also run along the right side of the boulevard toward the peninsula. DATE NOTES: Noted on image back. ORIG. IMAGE: 8" x 10" B&W glossy print. NEGATIVE: No.
