Description
Photograph article dated May 8, 1965 partially reads, "ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) worked overtime when Mrs. John Murphy Jr. of Toluca Lake took her four children and her tiny niece and nephew to see the beautiful mares and foals on the H.H. Breeding Farm in Chatsworth. The six children, whose ages range from nine to two, looked at the mares and their foals with wide-eyed interest. The quiet, well-mannered mares put their sleek heads over the fence to eat the sugar lumps offered by the children. "Mamma Mare" kept a sharp eye on her "child" in the same way that Mrs. Murphy kept her eye on the children to be sure they did not hurt or frighten the horses. ESP was the only form of communication available to the two mothers who shared concern for their young. Mothers - human, animal or fish have been equipped with a built-in danger warning system which functions to protect their progeny." Mrs. Murphy joins, from left, Maureen, Michael, John and Bobby Murphy and wee Christine Zimmer, while they watch the mares and foals play.; See image #00118595 for additional photo in this series.
