Description
Here is the Beacon Cigar Store, which occupied the lower street level northwest corner of the Jergins Trust building, at the corner of 101 Seaside Walk and south Pine Avenue. In addition to tobacco, the shop sold Lifesavers, popcorn, candy and gumballs (machine at left). Noted tobacco brands include Camel, Train Master, Omar, Marlborough, Sweet, Old Mill, Chesterfield, Roi-Tan and Santa Fe. One counter attendant wearing a three-piece suit and tie is visible at right. Signs include: "Box Trade a Specialty;" "Parcels Checked Here;" and "Films." The Jergins Trust building was demolished in 1988. DATE NOTES: Noted on image back. ORIG.
