Description
Photograph of solitary railway car moving along tracks next to hill, ca.1905. At center, a small rectangular railway car can be seen moving along a set of railroad tracks. At the front of the car, three rectangular windows are visible. Above these windows, a small sign reads: "So. Pac. Depot". Below the window, a large circular headlight is visible. The number "138" is painted to the right of the light, and a sign to the left reads "S.P. Depot Pacific, Electric Depot, Post Office". Above the railway car, a long metallic rod is seen connecting to a thin wire above. Along the bottom and side of the car, a large metal grill is visible. To the left of the car, another set of tracks is visible, but no other cars are in sight. To the outside left and right of both tracks, large utility poles can be seen running parallel to the tracks out to the horizon. In the extreme foreground, a rocky hill wall lies near the utility pole and tracks. In the extreme background to the left and right, tall trees and vegetation are visible.
