Photograph of monks working in the tailor shop at Mission Santa Barbara, 1898. One monk is sitting in a wooden chair beside a sewing machine at center. He wears an apron over his cassock and holds a piece of cloth between the needle plate and foot of the sewing machine. To the right of the sewing machine, two small cases are visible beside a small stool. In the background at right, another monk is visible sitting at a desk. Several shelves holding various bottles can be seen above the desk. Another large shelf is visible further to the right. To the far left, another sewing machine can be seen near the window. Along the wall, a crucifix and various religious paintings can be seen.
