The La Tuna fire occured the first week of September in 2017. It burned 7,194 acres through the Verdugo Mountains and endangered homes in Burbank, Glendale and Sunland-Tujunga. It was the largest fire in the city of Los Angeles in 50 years; however with all the efforts only a handful of structures were burned and no fatalities.
