Aerial view of the Ford Motor Company, Mercury Plant site located at 8900 E. Washington Boulevard in Pico Rivera; view is looking west. The plant, still under construction, is located on the corner of Rosemead Boulevard (lower left corner, but not visible from this angle) and Washington Boulevard (lower right corner); Paramount Boulevard runs diagonally (middle right to top left), and Rio Hondo parallels (upper portion). The 157-acre manufacturing facility was dedicated on May 6, 1948; the plant closed in 1980 and was purchased by Northrop Grumman in 1982. Photographed for J.H. Pomeroy on November 2, 1956.
