Description
Photograph of sunk ground in front of the Post Office after the earthquake, San Francisco, 1906. The ground dips down in the foreground causing the stones to break and pile on either side. Two men stand next to a bicycle just behind the sunk ground while a horse-drawn carriage stands by the sidewalk at center. A man sits on a wide staircase which leads to the arched doorway of the Post Office. The Post Office has horizontal stripes and large, arched windows across its first floor.
