Description
Photograph of a view of Vine Street looking north from Barton Avenue towards the Hollywood sign, ca.1925. What appear to be four distinct lanes of automobiles move up and down the dirty Vine Street. To the left, a two-story adobe-style building can be seen in the foreground separated from the sidwalk by a short concrete wall in front of which lamp posts and a fire hydrant can be seen. Farther back, the two-story building of what appears to be a warehouse bears a sign which reads "Laundry". To the right, pedestrians can be seen making their way down the sidewalk adjacent to a one-story brick house and a two-story craftsman-style home. The city and Hollywood hills can be seen in the background, along with the famous Hollywoodland sign.
