Photograph of a view of the Old Town cemetery in San Diego, ca.1898. A patch of cacti is visible in the foreground, surrounded by sedgegrass, while in the background down a gentle slope the cemetery can be seen enclosed behind a short brick wall. Wrought-iron cages jut up from the premises, presumably encapsulating grave markers. A long, narrow stretch of road cuts behind from the upper left, lined by utility poles. A few cows can be seen in the fields that stand beyond, which appears largely undeveloped.
