Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated September 5, 1964 reads, "A happy Sinclair family perches on wall in front of their new home--an expansion from a one-bedroom apartment to a five-bedroom home. From left, Fayne, 2; Jimmy, 4; Kiki, 6; Bertram, 8; Margarita, 9; Candy, 13; Albert Jr., 18, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sinclair." The article partially reads, "A family of nine refugees from Alaska, financially ruined by the March 27 earthquake, today was enjoying its first 'restful nights of sleep' in six months....Until last week, the Sinclairs were housed in a one bedroom apartment at 118 N. Westmoreland Ave. All seven children, ranging in age from two to 18, slept in the bedroom on two beds, a cot and even the floor while Mom and Dad shared a rollaway bed in the living room....Their crowded one bedroom apartment, like something out of a fairy tale, has been changed into a $200,000 palacial estate which rests on 10 acres of land at 9011 La Tuna Canyon Rd. in Sun Valley."
