Description
Photograph of a view of Santa Monica and the pier from Palisades Park, ca.1920. The pier is in the distance at right and several buildings, including a roller coaster, are constructed along its length. Running perpendicular to the pier is the Pacific Coast Highway, which is bustling with traffic and lined with a wide assortment of buildings. The steep bluffs of the park are at left and are solid rock with bushes growing at the base. The top of the cliff is lined with palm trees and a wooden fence runs along the top edge. A paved road makes its way up the cliff at center.
