Description
Shown here, viewed from the rear of the store towards the entrance in the background, is the interior of Worth's Clothing Store at 437 Pine Avenue. A crowd of women shoppers, along with a few men, fill the store. The racks are arranged along right and left walls by dress size. Above each rack, a sign is posted, which reads (for example): "Size 40, $1.00." All of the signs appear to list the same price. The long store walls are painted with varying-widths of horizontal stripes. A row of tiered, angular art deco style lamps designed to resemble chandeliers hang down the center of the ceiling. DATE NOTES: Noted on image back. ORIG. IMAGE: 8" x 10" B&W glossy print. NEGATIVE: Yes. KEYWORDS: Fashion, costume.
