"The historic Leland Stanford residence in Sacramento is included in William Seale's 250-page book 'The Tasteful Interlude: American Interiors Through The Camera's Eye.' Seale, a historian who has himself restored five American homes, uses 235 photos to illustrate the development of American taste in lifestyles, furniture and the decorative arts. The pictures, all showing interiors of homes in the period 1860-1917, were taken in all parts of the United States ..."
