Description
Photograph of a ski jumper perused by a crowd of spectators on either side of the ski slope, ca.1930. The sweater-clad jumper sails through the air toward a cleared stretch of snow-covered land as spectators watch. In the left-hand foreground, four men in jackets seem captivated by the sight, as do a line of people in the rightmost foreground, all with their faces turned toward the jumper. Spectators gather in a loose crowd on both sides of the ski slope, some running about, others with their eyes on the jumper. In the distance, a sprinkling of people walk about in the snow. The land is covered in snow and dotted with trees.
