Photograph caption dated September 17, 1954 reads, "Richard Leckband, seated right, retiring manager of J. C. Penney store in North Hollywood, unwraps projector given him by former and present employes [sic] at surprise party in Reseda. Seated, left, is his wife; standing, from left, are Linda Lee Barnes, B. C. Barnes, John Light, former assistant manager; Mrs. B. C. Barnes, hostess and former employe [sic], and Floyd Porter, present assistant manager."
