Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated September 26, 1964 reads, "Holding a copy of his own book about the trial of Jack Ruby, slayer of accused presidential assassin Lee Harvey Oswald, attorney Melvin Belli comments on the coming report of the Warren Commission on President Kennedy's death." The article partially reads, "'God help us if the Warren commission report on John F. Kennedy's assassination doesn't tell all, or leaves questionable blanks or lapses in the final accounting of that dark day, lapses which may cloud the pages of American history?' The speaker was attorney Melvin Belli, defense counsel in the trial of Jack Ruby for the murder of Lee Harvey Oswald, named as the assassin. Belli, stormy petrel of that trial, propounded that question in Hollywood Thursday."; See images #00117021 through #00117022 for all photos in this series.
