Description
Camera catches swimmer Mickey Riley (originally known as Michael Galitzen) as he makes his dive. Riley/Galitzen was the national outdoor 3-meter springboard and platform champion in 1928 and 1929, the indoor 1-meter springboard in 1929, 1931, and 1932, and the indoor 3-meter champion from 1929 through 1931. Representing the University of Southern California, he won the 3-meter springboard championship in 1931 and 1932. He won a silver medal in the 1928 Olympic springboard event and a bronze in the platform. In 1932 he won a gold in the springboard and a silver in the platform. Photo dated: May 12, 1931.
