Description
This item relates to the situation surrounding the remains of three Japanese internees, whose remains were moved from Lordsburg, New Mexico to Fort Bliss Cemetery once the Lordsburg camp had become inactive. The copies of photographs of three graves depict these three graves in Fort Bliss Cemetery. There are also handwritten notes at the top of page, that explain how the three people died-- Toshio Kobata was killed by a guard, while Yahei Shiota and Ayao Tahara both died of illness. Collection of notes, articles, correspondence, photographs, and term papers collected by Yukio Mochizuki, a student at CSU Dominguez Hills, while researching Japanese American incarceration and Japanese Peruvian internment during World War II.
