Description
Small political campaign card promoting Alden B. Campen and Robert C. Doerr for San Jose City Council election on May 1 in conjunction with the revenue bond to purchase San Jose Water Works and connect with the Hetch-Hetchy pipe line. "More Jobs Depend on More Water" The 64 Dollar Question! A water system is composed of three parts -- collection, storage and distribution. You as taxpayers and property owners already own two-thirds of the system -- the conservation dams and the underground storage. WHY should YOU as TAXPAYERS and PROPERTY OWNERS spend millions to put water at the bottom of 36 deep wells owned by the SAN JOSE WATER WORKS, only to have them pump this water out and SELL it BACK to you at a HIGH PROFIT? The Obvious Answer -- BUY the S. J. Water Works with REVENUE BONDS (no increase in taxes) and make San Jose eligible to connect with the HETCH-HETCHY pipe line.
