Description
The Queen of Angeles Hospital existed from 1926-1989, when it merged with Hollywood Clara Barton Memorial Hospital to become the Queen of Angels-Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, later the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center. Since 1994, The Dream Center, a volunteer driven organization that helps 50,000 individuals and families each month, has occupied the former hospital facility.
Photograph caption dated April 5, 1965 reads, "A blessing ritual today dedicated the newly-constructed intensive care unit at Queen of Angels Hospital. The facility has 16 beds and will be receiving patients within four days. Construction and equipment costs were $200,000, and replaces a pioneer unit installed by the hospital in 1960. Its design permits an advanced concept in team nursing."
