This was the Visalia High School graduating class of 1902. At far left in the back row is John Thomas Hinds, son of Wiley Hinds, a former slave who came in 1858 from Arkansas with Archibald Hinds. Wiley Hinds became the wealthy owner of more than 1000 acres. (Photo courtesy of Marian E. King)
