Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated May 10, 1961 reads, "Model Jean Hough and Bob Hall play 'Checkline.'" The article partially reads, "A unique game developed during leisure hours to entertain friends and customers has plunged Valley restaurateur Bob Hall headlong into new career in manufacturing. Hall, his son Bob Jr., and their associates, Loren Crother and Richard Lechner, are now manufacturing and marketing a completely new game called 'Checkline,' which can best be described as a three-dimensional version of tic-tac-toe. Originally created as a novel form of recreation for Hall's customers at his Wild Goose restaurants. Checkline caught on so fast and arouse so much interest that he decided to move ahead and produce the game on a commercial basis."
