Title supplied by cataloger. Gene Andreasen began his hobby to entertain his daughter who was hospitalized but other children in the hospital became interested in and delighted by the cartoons so Andreasen began volunteering after his daughter was released. He was presented with a volunteer service patch and pin for 100 hours of service. Photograph caption dated October 2, 1959 reads, "Cartoons -- Gene Andreasen, Pacific Telephone Co. worker, shows the cartoon balloons he creates to brighten the hours of patients at Childrens Hospital in Los Angeles."
