Photograph of an electric freeway communication sign westbound on the Santa Monica Freeway showing traffic conditions on May 23, 1973. The sign is at center and is a large rectangle. The fixed top line of the sign reads "Freeway Condition", while the electric second and third lines read "Typical Information". Several automobiles can be seen on the wide freeway near the base of the sign, including a Ford Mustang and a Volkswagen Beetle. The freeway is lined with an assortment of trees and bushes, and several tall buildings can be seen in the distance at right.
