Photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on November 26, 1953 states: "This aerial view shows the construction stages of Folsom Dam. Features indicated by the circled numbers are (1) west wing, (2) power plant, (3) the main concrete section in the river bed, (4) the cofferdam which diverts the American River temporarily through a tunnel and (5) the east wing trestle used in the concrete work."
