Photograph article dated January 23, 1959 partially reads, "It was love at first sight. When the people of Los Angeles met their new Music Center last night, they couldn't express their gratitude, pleasure and enthusiasm enough. 'It's magnificent. It's unbelievable,' exclaimed first-nighters as they strolled up and down the center spiral staircase past the mirrored walls and beneath the numerous shimmering crystal chandeliers before the performance. As they entered the auditorium of the Pavilion with its symmetrical balconies and plush seats, they further expressed their amazement." Photograph caption reads, "Couples arriving early for opening are, from left, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Willoughby, Tarzana; Mr. and Mrs. David Frisina, Sherman Oaks, and Supervisor and Mrs. Warren M. Dorn. Willoughby is president of the San Fernando Valley Symphony Association, while his wife is president of the Cadenzas, the association's women's auxiliary. Frisina is concert master of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra."; See images #00127713 through #00127721 for all photos in this series.
