Description
Eight men wearing suits stand behind a counter in an institutional-sized kitchen. They wear napkins tied to their heads in imitation of chefs' hats and appear to be getting ready to serve a 4th of July holiday meal. A variety of pots and pans and a large stack of cafeteria trays sits on the counter in front of them. A large framed poster featuring an eagle is hung on the wall above them, and says: "Independence Day, July 4th; This is the birthday of our great and glorious nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the principle that all men are created free and equal. This is the day when true Americans give thanks they are Americans." In the foreground, a portion of the dining area is visible, showing cloth-covered tables, each with seating for four. DATE NOTES: Circa 1926. ORIG. IMAGE: 8" x 10" B&W glossy print. NEGATIVE: Yes. KEYWORDS: Celebrations, food.
