This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written under photo: "Congregational Church. Post & Mason Street 1906. On the right [actually left] is the rear of the St. Francis Hotel. This church was remodeled after the fire of 1906 and afterwards torn down and rebuilt on present site." View shows church still heavily damaged but reconstruction appears to be progressing. Man is sweeping steps with broom. A sign to the right identifies the Eureka Slate Co. as a supplier for the rebuilding. The St. Francis Hotel still appears gutted. The area to the right of the church is largely ruined although a tall new building can be seen in the distance.
