Pat Boone speaks with architect William Pereira (Left) while Ronald and Nancy Reagan greet Charles Payson and an unidentified woman. The event was the "Birth of a College" dinner at which plans for Pepperdine University's Malibu campus were revealed and Governor Reagan gave a speech. The event took place at the Century Plaza Hotel with an overflow audience at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on February 9, 1970.
