Description
This 1908 postcard features the pennant for Howe's Academy, a school located in the Pythian Castle at the northwest corner of I and Ninth streets. The academy offered grade school and high school education, in addition to training in teaching and business. Later on they also offered classes in bookkeeping, typing, and shorthand. The academy opened in August 1895 under the direction of Edith Howe.
