Description
Photograph of the Morris Dam on the San Gabriel River, ca.1930. Dim, smooth water is framed with dark hills in the foreground and contained by the lightly-colored dam at center. The spillways on the right side of the dam splash the water forcefully against the pebbled bed of the river in the background. The forming river is edged on both sides with hills covered in dark forestry. A thin road winds along the edge of the hill on the right and extends over the top of the dam to the opposite hill on the far left.
