Photograph of the rear part of the building at Mission San Jose which still stood after the earthquake of 1869, ca.1900. Windows and doors punctuate the long, low building. A lattice of widely-spaced wooden crossbars enclose the exterior corridor along the wall. Wild vegetation grows in the foreground. Thick graffiti mars most of the wall. Legible writing includes: "1894, John Brown", "1903, John W. Brown", "T.A.", "TMeN", "W.", "May", "Max B. Robinson"[?], "T.M.S.", "J.W.B.", "R.C.B.", "T.R.A.", "Machines", etc.
