Segments include call-in session and interview with Hayward police sergeant D.J. Harrison about graffiti and community action team to place youth in jobs; mural artist Enrique Romero commentary on mural that was supposed to go up at Princeton and A Street and interview with artists Rodrigo & Robert Beltran and J. J. Bocaje; footage of their interaction with Hayward Councilperson Gail Steele about the mural; discussions around labeling and profiling of Chicano youth based on their dress. Barrio Expressions was a community access television show documenting Chicanx and Latinx life in the East San Francisco Bay Area. It ran on Hayward cable television from 1976-1985. While the shows were filmed primarily in the Hayward area, they include stories from around the East Bay and San Jose. The show aired weekly, with 26 episodes per year.
