Photograph a monk tending three cows at Mission Santa Barbara, 1898. In the foreground, the cows are grazing in a fenced-in pasture. In the background at center, a monk wearing a cassock can be seen facing the cattle. In the extreme background at left, a large wooden building with a tile roof can be seen adjacent to the fence enclosing the pasture. Further to the right, additional buildings are visible.
