Description
Note: Als Nr. 44 publiziert im Album 'Achtzig Ansichten von der Goldküste (Westafrika) nach Originalaufnahmen des Missionars Fritz Ramseyer', Neuenburg 1895.
Note translation: Published as no 44 in the album 'Achtzig Ansichten von der Goldküste (Westafrika) nach Originalaufnahmen des Missionars Fritz Ramseyer', Neuchâtel 1895. (RI). - Caption in the album: "The town of Abetifi. - Though the king's residence is not in Abetifi - he lives in Abene, 1 1/2 hours away - Abetifi is the capital of the province. The picture shows the main road which doesn't appear to be very pleasant since it is built on stony ground and is very uneven. In the middle of this street the imprisoned missionaries were introduced to the congregated chiefs and inhabitants in July 1869." - Published (HB, March 1894).
