Photograph caption dated June 5, 1957 reads, "Burt Lancaster, who portrays Wyatt Earp in Hal Wallis' 'Gunfight at the O.K. Corral,' became a bonafide town marshal when representatives of Earp, Calif., and Parker, Ariz., in the Calzona county, flew to Hollywood yesterday to get the film star's signature on the affidavit and then pinned the official seven-point badge on him. Representing the Calzona territory was Jim Loder, above, editor of The Pioneer in Parker, Ariz., which is directly across the river from Earp, Calif. As a gold prospector, Wyatt Earp was a familiar figure in the Calzona country from 1915 to 1923. Film at Hollywood Paramount Theater now."
