Two women are depicted in a sitting room, the left sitting while the right stands. The woman on the left wears her hair in a bun accented with pink flowers and a garland of green leaves. Her dress is white with semicircles of pink flowers and green leaves around the collar and down the front of the dress. It has an off the shoulder collar and short sleeves. She wears white gloves, wide gold bracelets, and holds a gold fan in her right hand. The woman on the left wears a white ruched bonnet with green plumes and ribbon. Her dress is light yellow with a high collar and white lace around the collar and down the front of the dress, and edging the hem. The lace edging has a number of large satin bows placed at intervals. The dress has long sleeves with white lece cuffs. She wears gloves, a pearl or bead bracelet, and holds a handkerchief. The parlor contains an oval picture, draperies in pale green, and a red velvet sofa.
