Transcription: Heavy gullying on bare ground in comparison with no gullies under the protection of an oak tree. The roots of this tree, some of which have been uncovered and can be observed, extend 180 feet out from the tree to the figures at the left. Over-grazed private lands 4 miles south of Monolith.
