Description
This is a photograph of a document that has circulated at least since the 1930s, designed as a quasi-legal agreement between consensual sex partners. It was carried by some military personnel stationed overseas and this version is dated for the 1950s. It is humorous, but may also have been applied for its stated purpose. It reads, in part: THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT I, the undersigned, a female about to enjoy sexual intercourse with................................... am above the age limit, am in my right mind and not under the influence of any drug or narcotic, neither does he have to use any force, threats or promises to influence me. I am in no fear of him whatsoever, do not expect him to or want him to marry me nor I marry him, I don't know whether he is married or not, nor do I care. I am not asleep or drunk, and entering into this relation with him because I love it and want it as much as he does and if I receive the satisfaction I expect, I am willing to play an early return engagement. complete;
