Photograph caption dated May 1, 1982 reads, "With chants, pickets and "thumbs down" gestures, Moslem students show their disapproval of Israel. The students marched down Wilshire Boulevard yesterday afternoon from Hancock Park to the Israeli Consulate. Marching almost in tandem were about 50 Jewish protesters chanting anti-Palestine Liberation organization slogans. LAPD officers formed a human wall to separate the two groups as they traded insults."
