Title supplied by cataloger. Inaugurated in 1935, the Santa Anita Derby is a thoroughbred horse race for three-year-olds held every April at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. Photograph caption dated April 5, 1982 reads, "Laffit Pincay Jr., aboard No. 8 Muttering, stands tall in the saddle after crossing the finish line a nose in front of the onrushing Prince Spellbound and Marco Castaneda." This race took place at the annual Santa Anita Derby.
